I am writing to inform you and your readers that I will formally announce my candidacy for the McHenry County Board on Saint Patrick’s Day, March 17th, 2026 for my run in 2028.

As a dual national (United States and Ireland), I am proud of both countries. While I have spent many years working in Ireland, I was born in Park Forest, a suburb of Chicago, and have returned to the city of my birth.

As a Democrat committed to working across the aisle, I believe our county government works best when it focuses on practical solutions, fiscal discipline, and respectful cooperation rather than partisan conflict. My campaign will focus on responsible budgeting, reducing unnecessary tax burdens on residents, supporting strong public safety services, and encouraging thoughtful economic development that protects the character of our communities.

I bring more than four decades of experience in business and public policy. Over the course of my career I have worked as a legislative analyst at the federal, state, and county levels, served as city planning commission, and managed and owned businesses in both the United States and Ireland. Those experiences have given me a deep understanding of budgeting, economic development, and the importance of accountable government.

Like many residents of McHenry County, I have seen how rising costs and property taxes are placing increasing pressure on families and retirees. I believe county leadership must remain disciplined, transparent, and focused on protecting taxpayers while maintaining the services that keep our communities safe and prosperous. At the same time, our County Board Members must lower all costs associated with administration and management of the critical tasks they oversee.

I remind you: my formal campaign announcement will take place on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2026 at which point I will release the following Website across a wide range of Social Media Platforms, thereby contacting 250,000+ followers:
