Based in Galway city, Ireland; Aran Art Studio is a multi-disciplined workspace. No two days are the same, each day could mean a different illustration style; a different medium: lino-cut, photography, printing, digital; a different subject: rural or urban; or experimenting with new techniques.
Our Inspiration
Our main source of inspiration comes from our surroundings; Galway city and county. Its the perfect mix of urban/rural, land and seascapes, traditional and modern, local and global influences.

Just off shore lies the Aran Islands “Aran” a place that we always have a deep fascination with. Its wildness and simple way of life provides a welcome contrast to the hustle of city living. Throughout its history it has always been a source of inspiration for artists and writers.

Galway city too, is a great source for our work. Its shapes, sounds and multi-cultural vibe nourishes creativity and the imagination.

Our Influences and Vision

As artists and craftspeople we strive  to make art that is beautiful to look at; made to the highest quality; and that establishes a meaningful connection with the buyer. That could be a happy memory, a place visited or wish to visit, a place they come from, their heritage or a meaningfull message.

Whether purchased as a gift or for ones own pleasure we hope it not only enhances peoples homes but also their lives.

Our aim is to create artwork that looks well in any environment. The different styles would have been influenced by different artists and designers such as Saul Bass, Paul Peter Piech, Edward Wright, Milton Glaser and Paul Rand. Artists too such as Picasso, van Gogh and Andy Warhol to name a few.

It is often commented that our work is very “Irish”, Many of our customers are tourists and expats overseas, looking for a bit of home – something that reminds them of Ireland.

We love what we do, and we hope that love shines through in our work.

This series of work is a collection of large Original Art Prints (24" x 36"). They are actual screen printed original pieces of art, physically printed by artists in Ireland. They are not a digital reproductions of existing art.

The initial designs take traditional icons associated with Ireland and reimagine them in a contemporary way -  in a strong graphic style.

The size of each print is movie-poster-size 24" x 36". This size fits standard “off the shelf” USA poster frame sizes. Frames can be found in many department stores and IKEA stores worldwide – therefore no expensive custom framing required.

These prints by their design and size have real impact! They are statement pieces. The artwork can define the centre piece of a room and act as a great focal point, and topic of conversation.

Refresh your walls with these bold prints that can enliven a living space. Adding these new artwork pieces to your walls can make a dramatic difference in the look and feel of your space.
