11th Annual Gaelic Festival in Porter County Indiana

Traditions - thats what Sunset Hill Farm County Park is all about.

With out a doubt the Irish and Scottish are bound by traditions. From our dance to our freckles we congregate whenever and wherever we can. Hosting the 11th Annual Gaelic Festival in Porter County Indiana is the Sunset Hill Farm County Park in Valparaiso.

Entertainers and vendors from throughout the Midwest will see a new face on this festival as it expands to Friday and Saturday and adds multiple stages to the park setting.

Dancers, Bag Pipers, Merchandisers, Bands and Beer make up the ultimate fun of the Porter County Gaelic Festival. The Mayer School of Irish Dance will be offering mini dance lessons after each show for those curious to learn a bit of a jig.

Dooley Brothers are one of the acts to appear at the Porter Co. Gaelic Fest.

Once you learn the dance you will enjoy practicing as you listen to Hog Eye Navvy and Highland Reign from Indianapolis, Kennedy’s Kitchen from South Bend, 3 Men in Kilts and The Dooley’s from Chicago and New Element from NWI will be on stage June 25, 2005 from 11:00am to 6:00pm, multiple food vendors, children’s carnival games and enjoy the beer garden. All festivals offer wagon rides through the park, handicap parking and fun.

New Feature this year is a Friday Night Concert at the park. Kennedy’s Kitchen will get your toes tapping and hearts a singing from 5:30-7:30 as a preview to Saturday. Irish step dancers, bagpipers and the band will guarantee to bring the stars out. The beer garden provided by Leroy’s Hot Stuff will be open from 5:00pm-8:00pm.

The Porter County Park Foundation was created in the early eighties as the custodians of the property and responsible for providing major funding for projects at Sunset Hill Farm County Park. The park is open daily for free to the public to enjoy, except on festival days.
