Irish American Heritage Center will host a unique art exhibit this spring.
"A Different Land: Irish Boglands" will be on display May 16
through June 14. Exhibit hours are Saturdays and Sundays 1 to 4 p.m. There
will be a free opening night reception on Friday, May 16, from 6 to 9
p.m.
The aim of the exhibit is to increase international awareness of the beauty
and uniqueness of Ireland’s bog landscapes. Bog landscapes are one
of Ireland’s defining features and are now attracting increased
interest from the scientific and artistic communities. They are becoming
a major selling point to attract tourists into the country.
The result is a collection of outstanding works from artists currently
living in County Kerry, Ireland. The exhibition is a testament to the
beauty and magic of this often hidden landscape.
