Matt Gulino grew up in the Garfield Ridge Community and met his sweetheart Joanne at Kennedy High School. Matt's childhood parish was St. Daniel and Joanne’s was St. Renee. They married and settled in St. Gerald Parish in Oak Lawn over 20 years ago, and became a happy family with a son and two daughters.  Matt and Joanne were deeply involved with community, sports and church activities. The “Mayor of Oak Lawn”, as Matt was affectionately called by his legion of friends, brightened the day of anyone he encountered.

In October of 2009, at the age of 49, Matt was taken from his family and friends by a rare blood disorder, TTP. His friends have formed a committee to assist his widow Joanne in providing for the education of his children. Tickets are available for the Bourbon Street Fundraiser by calling Benefit Coordinator Tim Pender at 708-560-4592. I f you can’t attend the fundraiser but would like to make a donation, please send your check, payable to the Matt Gulino Benefit Fund to :
